Busy, urban Eisenhower East is home to the African American Heritage Memorial Park, focused on a 19th-century cemetery and dotted with sculptures by Savannah-based artist Jerome Meadows. The National Inventors Hall of Fame features colorful visual displays and interactive exhibits. Offices, hotels, and apartment towers surround the Hoffman Town Center complex, which has global eateries and a multiplex cinema.
The African American Heritage Memorial Park was designed to co-exist with the original landscape of the cemetery and preserve the interesting and varied plant life on this site. The park’s innovative plan also sustains a wetland area that provides a home for mallards, painted turtles, beavers and crayfish in their natural habitat. The mission of the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) is to recognize inventors, promote creativity, and advance the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. We inspire emerging creators and entrepreneurs through our education programs and honor the history of innovation through our museum and Hall of Fame Inductees.
