Chantilly, Virginia, is a suburb of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, located approximately twenty miles to the west of the city. The city lies near the Dulles International Airport. In Chantilly, there are many parks and open spaces, as well as many parks and trails. Ellenor C. Lawrence Park was created in 1861 to preserve the town’s historic buildings and surroundings. The park features athletic fields, outdoor amphitheaters, and trails that connect to nearby Rocky Run and Green Briar Park. Residents are sure to find a place that suits their needs. During the war, Cornelia Stuart fell into debt and had to sell her Chantilly estate.

To determine the significance of the historic structure, a study was conducted by Karell Archeological Services Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm. They conducted a background study and archaeological investigation of the 1300 block of Duke Street in Alexandria, Virginia, and Landbay L within the Potomac Yard Property. The study was prepared by Charles R. Goodwin Associates and was commissioned by Siena Corporation, which owns the site. A great place to visit is here.
